Our equitable hiring processes are not based on eye-catching slogans and posters; rather, they are developed out of the spotlight. They are built within each step of our recruitment process:
- 1. We look to attract a wide pool of applicants from different walks of life.
Our aim is to open our position to as wide a pool of applicants as possible. We do not just publish our job postings on our website and the big job boards. We turn to our present staff members, who are familiar with the company’s culture and everyday practices, for referrals from their networks. We also search a variety of job boards and diverse networks, including professional schools. Moreover, we make certain that job titles and task descriptions are not gendered. - 2. Candidate review without unconscious bias.
When someone examines a resumé, unconscious prejudices may be everywhere. Their perceptions of others might be unfairly and subtly influenced by their name, their place of employment, or even the school they attended. To ensure that everyone has a comprehensive awareness of what to be mindful of, our recruiting staff is educated to recognize unconscious bias and completely address it as part of their inclusion training. - 3. An equitable interview process.
Our diverse interviewer panel allows us to receive a variety of viewpoints and determine the potential of our candidates based on their aptitude rather than their past.
We have standardized our interview process so that all candidates face the same questions, ensuring a fair procedure. The questions asked of the candidate centre on matters that impact the position; this allows us to gain insight into the candidate’s thought process and way of thinking.
In addition, all reasonable accommodations are made for remote interviewees so that they feel included even if they are not in the same room.
