Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) update

March 16, 2020

With the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation evolving rapidly, we at Ropack Inc. would like to reassure our clients that we are closely monitoring the presence of COVID-19 in Canada.

Our primary concern is the health and safety of our employees and customers, as well as that of their families and our community. Our role within the healthcare sector is an important one, and we recognize the impact of our activities in delivering quality medications to patients.

At this time, we continue to deliver our services and are working closely with our business partners to ensure we maximize service levels for all our customers. In addition, the following measures have been put in place:

  • We are closely monitoring WHO rolling updates as well as guidance provided by different levels of municipal, provincial and federal governments.
  • We have issued guidance as per the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Québec and the Public Health Agency of Canada on best practice hygiene recommendations for how employees can protect themselves against coronavirus infection.
  • Other onsite proactive measures include limiting entry and exit points both into and within our facilities (manufacturing vs. office areas), as well as applying the 1-metre rule as much as possible.
  • All employees having travelled internationally or who have immediate family members having returned to Canada March 7th or later have been asked to self-quarantine for 14 days from their date of return and work remotely where possible.
  • Visitors to our sites are restricted to key partners, maintenance and repair workers. Hand sanitizers are available at all entry points and visitors are asked to wash their hands and complete a screening questionnaire upon arrival. Any site visits deemed nonessential (for example plant tours) have been rescheduled.

Ropack’s senior management has set up a special committee that meets daily to assess the level of risk associated with COVID-19 and make sure the appropriate procedures have been implemented and explained to employees and customers. We will continue to monitor the situation closely as it evolves, keep you informed about the latest developments and send further communications if additional measures or impacts on our business operations are expected.

Thank you for your support and partnership as we all move through this evolving situation. We wish everyone continued health.

Sincerely,
